2/23 - 2/27

The fact that I'm updating this at 11:30pm on a Saturday night is proof that I'm lame.  Social life?  What social life?

Day 14:
The tree in my front yard was giving off this awesome shadow on the wall.  The picture really doesn't capture its amazingness...but well, here it is.

Day 15:
I almost forgot to take a picture that day.  Luckily, Reyna was passed out on her bed at 11:57pm, and this is what I got. (I really need to get a picture of Phish on here!!! Poor guy)

Day 16:
I had a hard time choosing a picture this day.  I had chaperoned my nephew's Pre-K class to the zoo and got some cool shots.  But since this is for my dad, I went with a picture of our outing that day.  Dad, Berna, and I went to Painting With A Twist in The Woodlands and had a blast.  You can bring wine, beer, dinner, anything, and follow along with a teacher.  2 hours later, you get to go home with your very own materpiece.

Day 17:
Just a bunch of corks.  They were actually part of a serving tray, but you can't tell in the picture.

Day 18:
One of the people I pet-sit for has a huge orange tree in their backyard.  Last year there were TONS of oranges.  Right now, the oranges are just starting to come in.  I had to take a picture because they were so tiny and cute!  I mean.....if oranges can be "cute".  You be the judge.

2/18 - 2/22

I've gotta admit, I'm pretty impressed that I haven't forgotten to take a picture yet.....

There's plenty of time to ruin that good streak, though.  Boo.

Day 9: Dad's 69th birthday!  We drove to Louisiana for a little bit of gambling.  We went to one of the restaurants in the casino, and they gave him a cute birthday cupcake.

Day 10: I volunteered at the zoo this day.  It was hard picking just one picture, but I figured there would be plenty of primate pictures to choose from over the next year, so I went with the jellies this time.  Yay, jellies.

Day 11: I went to Annie's for a party and turned her bowl of cherries into a mini photoshoot.  People thought this was funny for some reason?

Day 12: Dad helped me finish another Beatles puzzle....and by help, I mean cussed for hours.  Gotta love him!

Day 13: Just a coincidence that there's two Beatles pictures in a row.  I'm sure that'll happen a few more times throughout the year....love those Beatles.

2/14 - 2/17

I've officially had this blog for a week!  I can't believe it.  I know I don't have a lot of people that follow this blog yet, but I'm so happy to share this with the few that know it exists. :)

Day 5: Valentine's Day.  I made my dad present, and he loved it.  I thought I should include it in his book. :)

Day 6:  I bought a book called Henry The Dog With No Tail about a red merle Australian Shepherd.  I know I'm pathetic, don't remind me.  I'm pretending this was purchased for my niece and nephew.

Day 7: I went to Barnes & Noble looking for a gift for dad's 69th birthday.  I found myself spending a lot of time in front of this section.  Convenient, since my mom was a die hard Elvis fan.

Day 8:  Anto, Jonathan and I went to a Leukemia/Lymphoma fundraiser at St. Arnold's.  If you live in Houston, you know how important St. Arnold's is to us.  If not, look 'em up.  Or support your local microbrewery.

2/11 - 2/13

I figured I'd go ahead and post the last three days while I had some extra time. Well, that, and I'm still in my blogging honeymoon period, so I'm ready for another post!

Laaaaaaaaaame, I know.

Day 2: Totally forgot about taking a picture until I was on my way home that night.  So here's my speedometer, while I was waiting at a red light.  Totally safe.

Day 3: I found some conversation hearts in Spanish, so I totally had to buy a box.  I'm awesome like that.

Day 4: One of the only souveniers I bought myself in Hawaii.  I thought she was too cute to pass up.  I especially like the microscopic Reyna hair attached to her leaves.

About this blog...

My dad has always appreciated homemade gifts for his birthday and holidays. We both share a love for photography, so I decided for Father's Day 2011, that I would make him a coffee table book. I'm going to take a picture every day for an entire year, and title the book "A Year In Photos". I'm sure this has been done thousands of other times, but I don't care, damnit.

So anyways, I'm going to try to upload my photos each week on here. They will just be of random things...basically, whatever is in front of me when I remember to take the picture. Hope you all enjoy and continue to follow my year in pictures! ...and if you know my dad, keep your mouth shut about all this. Ha.

I guess I should post the very first picture of the "project"...
