Day 6-Your siblings

Oh, the seesters.  I always thought it was cool that we are each 5 years apart.  There was always mass quantities of estrogen in our house, but as the years went on, we learned how to appreciate one another. :)  These days, Berna (Bernadette) is 37, Anto (Antoinette) is 31, and I'll be 27 in just a few days

Here's the two of them, acting like they are getting along....this photo is pre-Candace, but I'd guess it's around 1980 or 1981????

I love this picture.  It cracks me up every time.  Mainly because back then we all thought we looked SO good in those ballet outfits!  Here we are, circa 1987?

So here we are at Disneyworld (2007???)

Apparently we don't take a lot of pictures together.......or I certainly don't have them.  Which is sad.  I'll definitely need to hop on that when I go home for Spring Break!  You girls are on my list!

Day 5-Your parents

If you know me at all, you know that my dad and I are crazy close.  There's really not much more to say about that except I love him, even though I don't necessarily say it.  Mainly because I'm emotionally closed off.  But he knows I love him, and that's really all that matters, yes?

I've also discovered that the only pictures of my mom on my computer are from the 70's.  Damn.  It is hard to believe that it's been 13 years since she died.  She has been gone for half of my life.  Which is just crazy.

Here's where it all began.  Dad is second from the left.  Cute!  (and the color of this photo totally tells you that he's ooooold.  Haha.)

These next few are air force photos from 1964:

This is where it gets good:

Day 4-A picture of something you hate

I'm not really sure of something that I just absolutely hate, but I thought I'd post pictures of things that I am scared of.  Cuz really, I hate that I'm so freakishly scared of each of these things.  Get ready.

Public restrooms:

Feet:

Ventriloquist dummies/ animatronics/ baby dolls (with blinking eyes):

Pretty sure I'm going to regret posting this one so late at night.  I have a feeling I'm either not going to be able to sleep, or I'll be having horrible nightmares.  Not ok.

Day 3-A picture of something you love

I feel like I should clarify that the reason I'm not posting pictures of my animals (who we all know I love dearly) is because there's an entire post dedicated to the little boogers towards the end of the month.  Sooooooo, here are my niece and nephew.  I don't get to see them very often anymore, but we send each other letters and cards!  They are a total riot, have very strong Hernandez personalities, and give their parents hell.  Which I love them for.

Here's a few pictures of Andrew through the years:

And here's Alex, the crazy little girl:

Aren't they cute?  And just in case you need any reassurance:

Day 2-Meaning behind your blog name

Well, originally this blog was a 365.  I was going to take a picture every day and after a year, I would turn it into a coffee table book for my dad.  Between moving and starting school full-time, I got my ass kicked.  I got so far behind that I just had to say screw it.  But I will still be posting some of my favorites, which will be turned into a gift for my dad!

Here's a picture of my dad and I when he last visited....  :)

Day 1-Introduce yourself, recent picture, 15 interesting facts

My name is Candace, and I'm from Houston, TX.  I currently live in Baton Rouge, LA where I am a pre-vet wildlife student at LSU.  Finally.  I have an extremely boring life and I love it.

1.  I have a weird birthmark on my face, but I only notice it during the summer.  It gets DARK.  One time, while my oldest sister was babysitting me, she thought it was chocolate and tried to scrub it off.  It didn't work.

2.  I have a slight nail polish obsession that started about a year ago.  I now have around 80 bottles of nail polish, and there are so many more that I'm eyeballing.  It's really quite sad.  I realize this.

3.  I do this magical thing I like to call "the windsock dance".  Anytime I pass one of those windsock things with arms, I have to try and mimic the movements.  It kind of looks like I'm doing the wave all by myself, but I love it.  I've been doing that now for about 12 years.  Still going strong.  I've tried replicating those moves on the dance floor, but it doesn't seem to translate well.

4.  I've played the piano for almost 20 years now.  I don't know why, but people are shocked when they find this out. It may have something to do with the fact that I have freakishly small carni-folk hands....

5.  I have a billion and one OCD qualities.  Here's a few so you can get an idea of just how stupid I am:
Any food that is circular must be eaten in a counter-clockwise direction.  Don't ask, cuz I don't know.  Toilet paper/paper towels MUST BE OVER, NOT UNDER.  I break out into a sweat and my right eye starts twitching when I see someone has put it under.  It's just not right.  I also cannot use a paper towel or piece of toilet paper that wasn't torn directly on the perforation.  There's so many more...but we don't have time for that.

6.  My most favorite drink ever is water.

7.  I wear makeup maybe once or twice a year.  Maybe.

8.  I write with my right hand but do everything else with my left.  I guess that's what I get for having a dad that's right handed and a mom that was left handed.  Screwed my ass up.

9.  I have ground breaking epiphanies when I'm shaving my legs.  Yes, I'm strange.

10.  I have a Magic 8 Ball (his name is Merlin).  I consult him at least twice a week.

11.  I am OBSESSED with true crime shows.  It's made me totally cautious.  In fact, some may even call me paranoid.  I'm ok with that, I'm still alive.  If I can't get into vet school, my plan b is forensics.  Which tells you how much I like people.  I'm either working with animals or dead people.  Rock on.

12.  One of my life goals is to visit every major league ballpark.  I love me some baseball.

13.  Thirteen is actually my favorite (and lucky) number.

14.  I rarely ever dream.  But when I do, they are usually something crazy.  Like Billy Mays commentating for the Disney Olympics crazy.  And I swam against Ariel.  And won.

15.  I have a slight insomnia problem.  For a while there, I could recite about 10 infomercials word for word.  Need Rod Stewart's 10 disc ultimate collection?  I know your number!  What?  You need the Slap Chop or possibly the Sham Wow?  I'm your girl.

A little something new...

I failed miserably at keeping up with my project.  However, I did give my dad a magical photography-esque birthday present that he loved, so I'll still be posting random pictures I take for him....just not one every day.  I've seen quite a few people doing this month long photo blog, so I'm going to do it, too!
